Effective October 13, 2026 · Fintentive LLC, doing business as Fintentive Press

We collect very little information, and we want you to know exactly what, why, and who else is involved. This policy covers thestorytax.com and its companion pages.

01 Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Fintentive LLC, doing business as Fintentive Press (“Fintentive,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information about you when you visit thestorytax.com (the “Site”), including its companion pages for the STIx, the production prompt, the 90-Day Protocol, and STIx Speak. Fintentive LLC is based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, and is the publisher of The Story Tax by Balaram Krishna.

This policy applies to the Site only. It does not apply to the third-party services the Site links to, including BookFunnel, Payhip, LinkedIn, and Google, each of which has its own privacy practices. Section 4 describes those services and what each one does.

02 The Short Version

  • The Site is a publishing and information site. It has no user accounts, no comment sections, no contact or sign-up forms, and no checkout of its own.
  • We do not run advertising, behavioral tracking, or analytics tools on the Site, and we do not use advertising cookies.
  • If you request a free sample, BookFunnel, not this Site, collects your email address. If you buy a product, Payhip, not this Site, collects your payment and order details.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • The production prompt runs inside your own enterprise AI tool. We do not receive, see, or store your calendar, email, meeting data, prompt, or results.
  • You can reach us about privacy at balaram@thestorytax.com.

03 Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. The Site does not contain forms that send information to us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write. We use that information to respond to you.

Information collected automatically. The Site is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., our hosting and content delivery provider. As with nearly every website, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver and secure the Site, such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages and files requested, the referring page, and the date and time of the request. This information is used to serve the Site, to detect and prevent abuse, and to keep the Site available and secure.

Fonts. The Site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files directly from Google, which receives your IP address and browser information as part of that request. See Section 4.

Information we do not collect. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through the Site, such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, health information, precise location, or biometric data. We do not collect payment card details; payments are handled entirely by Payhip.

04 Third-Party Services You May Encounter

The Site works with the following third parties. When you click through to them, they act under their own privacy policies, and you should read those policies before providing information.

  • Cloudflare (hosting and security). Delivers the Site and processes the technical information described in Section 3. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts. Supplies the Site’s typefaces. Google Privacy Policy.
  • BookFunnel (free samples). The “Read the Free Sample” and “Listen to the Free Audio Sample” links open pages hosted by BookFunnel, which asks for your email address in order to deliver the sample. Providing it also adds you to our email list for occasional emails about the book, and you may opt out of any email at any time using the unsubscribe link in that email. BookFunnel Privacy Policy.
  • Payhip (purchases). The eBook, audiobook, and bundle “Get” buttons open Payhip checkout pages. Payhip collects and processes your payment and order details, such as your name, email address, billing information, and the items you buy, and provides us with the order information we need to fulfill your purchase and support you. We do not receive your full payment card number. Payhip Privacy Policy.
  • LinkedIn and Fintentive.com. The Site links to the author’s LinkedIn profile and to the Fintentive website. Following those links takes you to sites governed by their own policies.

05 The Production Prompt and Your Own Data

The STIx production prompt published on the Site is text that you copy and paste into an enterprise AI assistant that your own organization has approved, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot or Gemini for Workspace. When you run it, your calendar, meeting, email, and related data are processed within that tool, under your organization’s agreement with its provider and your organization’s policies.

Fintentive does not receive, access, view, store, or process that data, the prompt as you run it, or the results the tool returns. The “Copy full prompt” button on the prompt page copies text to your device’s clipboard and does not transmit anything to us. Questions about how your AI tool handles your data should be directed to your organization and the tool’s provider.

The STIx and the production prompt are operational diagnostic tools. They are not validated for, and must not be used for, hiring, promotion, compensation, performance ratings, discipline, reassignment, termination, or any other employment decision.

06 How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above to:

  • deliver, secure, and maintain the Site, and protect it against fraud, abuse, and attacks;
  • respond to your emails and requests;
  • fulfill purchases and provide customer support, using order information from Payhip;
  • send occasional emails about the book to people who requested a sample, with an unsubscribe option in every message;
  • comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect our rights and the rights of others.

We do not use personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

07 Legal Bases for Processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal information on the following bases: our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving a book-publishing website and responding to inquiries; performance of a contract when you buy a product; your consent when you ask to receive a sample and emails about the book, which you may withdraw at any time; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance them against your rights and expectations.

08 Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site does not use advertising, analytics, or behavioral-tracking cookies or pixels. Our hosting provider and the third-party services described in Section 4 may use cookies or similar technologies on their own services, including on their own pages after you click through to them. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Because the Site does not track you across websites, it does not respond differently to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals; there is no tracking for such a signal to switch off.

09 How We Share Information

We share personal information only as follows:

  • Service providers that host the Site, deliver email, and process orders on our behalf, under obligations to protect the information and use it only for those services;
  • Legal and safety reasons, where disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fintentive, our readers, or others;
  • Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case the information would remain subject to this policy or a successor policy with equivalent protections.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

10 Email Communications

If you request a free sample through BookFunnel, we may send you occasional emails about The Story Tax and related publications. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-out requests promptly and in any event within the time required by the CAN-SPAM Act. You may also ask us to remove you by writing to balaram@thestorytax.com. We may still send transactional messages about an order or a request you made.

11 Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting, and reporting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Hosting logs are kept for the period set by our hosting provider. Email list information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Order records are kept for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Third parties keep information under their own retention policies.

12 Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information in our control, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a security incident affecting personal information, we will notify affected people and regulators as required by law.

13 Your Privacy Rights

United States. Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access and obtain a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or targeted advertising (which we do not do), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Some states also allow you to appeal a denial of a request.

EEA, UK, and Switzerland. You may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

How to make a request. Email balaram@thestorytax.com with the subject line “Privacy Request,” tell us what you would like us to do, and include the email address you used so we can find your information. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, generally within 45 days (or 30 days where the law requires). Because most information connected to you is held by BookFunnel, Payhip, and Cloudflare, we may also direct you to those providers to complete a request with them.

California Shine the Light. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

14 Children’s Privacy

The Site and our books are written for working professionals and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable law requires a higher age). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at balaram@thestorytax.com and we will delete it.

15 International Transfers

Fintentive LLC is located in the United States, and the services described above process information in the United States and other countries. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from those of your home country. Where required, we and our service providers rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

16 Links to Other Websites

The Site contains links to websites and services operated by others. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit.

17 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Effective” date above. If a change is material, we will give additional notice where required by law. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you have read the updated policy.
